After some research and reading the copy for the article I came up with two sketches.</p><p><span class="full-image-block ssNonEditable"><span><img src="http://www.annashipside.com/storage/doula roughs.jpg?__SQUARESPACE_CACHEVERSION=1330031662885" alt="" /></span></span></p><p>They liked the idea in the first one but asked to replace the hand with a lovey (a small stuffed animal) as sleep doula's believe in teaching the child to self-sooth and sleep on their own. <p>This illustration was just done for an article in Canadian Family Magazine's summer issue about a  mom who lost 80 pounds while on mat leave.&nbsp; They wanted something  strong but lighthearted and needed to convey that improving your health  is a struggle and a journey so they didn&rsquo;t want the woman to look too  fit and perfect.&nbsp;&nbsp; I sent in three sketches and they approved my  favourite of the three which is always nice.</p>
